Society of St Vincent de Paul

The St Vincent de Paul Society is an international association of Catholic lay people devoted to the service of the poor and disadvantaged. St. Augustine Chapter was
formed in 1963 with Pat O’Sullivan becoming first chairperson.

The works the Society does is financed by the members of St. Augustine parish, through monthly collections and other contributions. The society appreciates donations of furniture and other household items to share with those in need.

Members of the Society volunteer time to service those people, who require their help.

The monies collected by the monthly collection and individual donations go toward handing out food hampers every Wednesday afternoon from the parish.

The society also receives donation of clothing, furniture and other household items that are given to those in need.

At times transportation and shelter is also given to transients needing assistance. much of this assistance is given in the forms of vouchers at the church office. For those requiring long tern assistance, contact is made with Provincial and City officials through the society.
